Course content
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to provide initial support to a young person aged 12–18 who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
This Mental Health First Aid course is practical, engaging, and ideal for adults supporting young people in school, community, sporting, and workplace settings.

- Recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adolescents
- Recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem
- Approach a young person you may be concerned about and start a supportive conversation

Course Format
This Online Youth Mental Health First Aid course is delivered in a fully online blended format and includes:
- Self-paced eLearning (approximately 5–7 hours)
- Two live online Zoom workshops (total 7 hours)
- Comprehensive Youth Mental Health First Aid manual
- Accreditation as a Youth Mental Health First Aider upon successful completion
Please note: Participants are required to complete the self-paced eLearning and attend both live online sessions to complete the course.
