The unit of competency requires that participants perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin placed on the floor.
Without this being performed we cannot issue a certificate. The trainer will do everything they can to make it easier such as allowing extra time, providing a chair to assist getting up or down or providing the opportunity to complete the assessment in private however to issue the nationally recognised certificate they must see that task performed.
Please contact us before your training to discuss any physical limitations.
There is no one size fits all here and this will depend on a risk assessment for your workplace.
Following guidelines provided by WorkSafe Victoria, generally for low-risk workplaces having one first aid officer for every 10 to 50 employees ensures that there's adequate coverage in case of emergencies.
In higher risk workplaces, where the potential for serious injury or illness is greater, having a higher ratio of first aid officers to employees is crucial for prompt and effective response to emergencies. These guidelines help ensure the safety and well-being of employees by providing appropriate levels of first aid support based on the specific risks present in different types of workplaces.
It's important for employers to adhere to these guidelines and ensure that they have the necessary first aid resources in place to protect their employees. Please contact us to discuss the requirements for your workplace.
